Each week I read many week-by-week fetal growth charts, and although they tell me the average length and weight of my baby, it’s still difficult for me to visualize the exact size. Here’s a great chart that compares the size of your baby with familiar objects to help you more easily picture exactly how big your little bundle of joy is.
Weeks 3 & 4 your baby is an embryo the size of a poppy seed.
Week 5 the average size of your baby will be .13 inches long. About the size of a sesame seed or apple seed.
Week 6 the average size of your baby will be .25 inches long. About the size of a sweet pea or lentil.
Week 7 the average size of your baby will be .51 inches long. About the size of a blueberry.
Week 8 the average size of your baby will be .63 inches long and .04 oz. About the size of a raspberry or kidney bean.
